What a winter test trip actually tells you about a place
Every place looks good in August. We went to Greece in February instead, to the same island we had been looking at all summer.
Half the tavernas were shut, the ferry ran three times a week instead of daily, and the house we liked had no heating beyond one air conditioner. None of that killed it, but all of it changed the budget.
The listings I work from live at https://global-property.investments/ and after that trip I re-sorted everything by whether the village has a year-round bakery. That sounds like a joke and it is not.
We are going back in January to check the same three villages once more.
